Company

From the Swabian region of Germany to the world

About us

We not only move products but also develop technologies that make your processes more efficient and sustainable. In 1997, Hans-Jörg Wieland set out with a clear goal: to design and manufacture high-quality conveyor technology for industrial applications. In 2004, the company expanded into the field of automation. Today, complete systems are successfully marketed under the brand name wiegro.

On a production area of 850 square meters, wiegro manufactures all essential components in-house. The production hall is separated from the final assembly area by a physical barrier – a structural advantage that is especially crucial for the food industry. Conveyor technology from Großerlach, located in the Swabian region of Germany, quickly became a recognized mark of quality.

Over time, new machinery was added by Daniel Wieland to further improve production capabilities. Today, we utilize modern laser sheet metal processing, enabling us to manufacture intricate and sensitive components with precision. Our in-house press brake allows us to produce custom profiles, such as lightweight conveyor bodies, tailored to our customers’ needs. wiegro designs all systems internally, ensuring maximum flexibility.

1997 The beginnings

Wiegro was founded by Hans-Jörg Wieland in 1997, when we were already realizing professional solutions in metal construction for a wide range of applications such as sheet metal blanks, folded parts and welded parts for buildings and the construction industry. The very next year, the first conveyor system was developed as a solution for interlinking production sections. This was the starting signal for ever more complex and larger conveyor systems. In the following years, we not only entered the international market, but also introduced CAD design and constantly expanded our machinery, for example with a laser cutting machine, in order to be able to offer more complex and flexible solutions for conveyor belts.

2002 New space for great ideas

The steady growth of the company, but also the size of the conveyor systems themselves, made it necessary to move to new production premises in 2002. We remained loyal to our location and built a new building in Großerlach with a separate assembly area and extended office space. Since then, we have had 850 square meters of production space at our disposal.

2005 Broader realignment

Around 2005, the company underwent a reorganization that was intended to broaden our product and customer base. The company was also expanded to include an automation division in order to be able to offer not only partial but also complete solutions, as we still do today: we no longer just manufacture conveyor systems, but also complete systems in a wide range of industries for our customers.

2008 Expansion of the product range

This was also made possible thanks to the introduction of 3D CAD design and a further expansion of the product range in 2008: from then on, we also offered additional functions such as push-off and positioning devices – also with controls.

2010 Non-stop success

In 2010, we were able to focus even more intensively on the pharmaceutical, food and automotive industries. A special development for the Fraunhofer Institute was to follow the following year, a conveyor that is used in special assembly areas.

2012 On track for growth

In 2012, we developed the Powerattack heavy-duty transport system and the purchase of further machines, such as a new laser cutting machine, supports our claim to offer complete concepts and total solutions. We can say with some pride that we have earned an excellent reputation with Wiegro conveyor technology from Großerlach in Swabia.

2014 Development of a new business area

In 2014, we planned and implemented a passenger conveyor for an amusement park for the first time. The challenge here was not just the dimensions, which were the largest in the company’s history, but much more the new and unknown requirements. Europa-Park Rust is very satisfied with the implementation of the idea, our work and the associated service.

2016 Expansion project business
2018 New development of passenger conveyor belt
2019 wiegro GmbH

In 2019, Daniel Wieland founded wiegro GmbH and took over the company from his father, Hans-Jörg Wieland. With this restructuring, he continued the long-standing tradition of conveyor technology and laid the foundation for a modern and innovative company development

2020 Founders’ Award

Daniel Wieland was awarded the Founders’ Award by Kreissparkasse Waiblingen. The jury particularly recognized his innovative conveyor technology solutions, which are used in roller coasters at Europa-Park Rust. His specially developed transport system enables up to 30% higher passenger throughput, attracting significant attention in the amusement park industry. With his customized solutions, he is setting new standards in conveyor technology

2024 wiegro Moves Forward – Now in India

With the establishment of WIEGRO ECOCONVEYORS PRIVATE LIMITED in India, wiegro continues its growth trajectory in 2024. By partnering with Sahil Saraf, Managing Director of the Indian subsidiary, this expansion enhances international presence, enables faster service, and strengthens collaboration with local partners. By combining German precision with Indian dynamism, wiegro is setting new standards in conveyor technology
